All Courses are taught to SNT-TC-1A and/or CP-189 Guidelines or can be customized for your company's specific needs. Attend Classes at our Training Center, attend Online, or have on-site training at your location. A minimum number of students is required for onsite training.
WEBINAR COURSES
Webinar courses can greatly reduce travel cost.
Our Webinar courses are NOT pre-recorded videos. The courses are attended by the students in real time, BUT FROM YOUR LOCATION and there is open communication between our instructor and the students. Students can ask questions, express concerns, or just ask the instructor to re-phrase information. There will still be travel involved due to the fact that our courses offer General, Specific, and Practical exams which we administer in person, but the time spent away from your location will be greatly reduced. What equipment is needed? You will need a laptop computer, an internet connection and a headset. Contact us for more details.
In all aspects of Non-Destructive Testing, the assurance of quality is measured by the amount of knowledge, skill, and experience an inspector has acquired. The best Inspectors are those who receive the best training and put it to use. At Apex NDT Training Services we pride ourselves on the fact that we can play a part in developing a measure of skill and confidence that is desired by all inspectors. This allows them to go into the field and put to use the information and hands-on experience they received in class which reflects well upon their employers.
Our NDT Level I and Level II Courses are built on the fact that, as Level II inspectors for many years, our instructors experienced the same “Cookie Cutter” type of training that has become the norm in our industry. Apex NDT Training chose to develop a training program that helps to enrich and expose the students to real-life application of NDT formulas and principles that are often taught, but not usually incorporated into the Practical Exam. Much care is taken in order to assure that the written words of the lecture manuals make the transition to knowledge in the minds of our students. A true understanding of the training material by the students is our number one goal.
Many times it is not necessary to put an employee through an entire NDT Level I or Level II course. This is the case when an Employee will not be performing the actual inspection, but will be monitoring a job or merely overseeing the inspection process. The NDT Familiarization Course is designed specifically for this purpose. It gives a brief but thorough explanation of the NDT Method theory and covers certain Specifications that are applicable to your company’s industry. The students are taught how the various hands-on procedures are performed, but are not required to perform the practical (hands-on) part of the examination process.
In other cases it is not necessary to put a former employee or potential employee through an NDT Level I or Level II course due to the fact that a company may accept previous certification from another organization as being valid for their own company. When this is the case it is still the responsibility of the Employer to insure that his inspectors are capable of performing to a certain skill level and that they are capable of maintaining a high level of quality. This is where the NDT Refresher Course comes into play. This is one way that an Employer can assess the employee’s knowledge and skill level by providing them with a short course designed to review important industry specific information and then give an examination to expose areas of weakness in the employee’s skill and experience level so that he/she can receive remedial training in those areas.
U.T. Thickness gauging is a technique of Ultrasonic Testing but its importance is often underestimated. This class is an introduction to Ultrasonic theory and discusses the importance of proper measurement modes, transducer selection, selection of couplant, alignment of transducer, factors affecting performance and accuracy, high temperature measurements, and the effects of ultrasonic doubling. These are all subjects that are imperative to ensuring that erroneous readings are not misinterpreted as rejects and that rejects are recognized and are not misinterpreted as merely an area of heavy wall. Various other topics are also discussed.
Our ASNT Level III Consulting and Advising Services are very customized for each Company we serve. The American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) is the single largest certifying body of Level III personnel. The ASNT NDT Level III Certificate remains the most respected and widely accepted NDT certification throughout the world. Some of the Consulting and Advising services we offer are (but are not limited to) : Written Procedure development, Written Practice development for new companies or the implementation of new techniques, Advising new method selection, Inspection Project management, Third Party Client representation and Monitoring, Specification and Code Interpretation, Technical Support, and Technical Reporting.
Apex NDT Training Services also offers Companies the option to obtain our services on retainer for a period of one year, which would entitle them to ASNT Level III representation before and during Audits and ASNT Level III technical support within that year. All of these services would require prior scheduling and planning to accommodate both parties. This would require an annual retainer fee paid in quarterly installments, and would need to be renewed annually. This would also entitle companies to a discount on any of the Courses or services offered by Apex NDT Training Services. For more information about any of these services, please contact us by e-mail or by phone. Your time, interest, and consideration are greatly appreciated.
Often times a company's workload can excede the availability of qualified personnel. Apex NDT Training Services can provide an ASNT NDT Level III or Certified Level II that is qualified and experienced enough to perform most types of inspection. Please contact us for information and rates for this type of service.
All companies in all Industries assign great importance to the dependability of the products they purchase. In many cases, specifications mandate an inspection be performed requiring a reference standard which contains a man-made imperfection to simulate a flaw of a given size and ata given depth. The EDM notch is designed to create the reference indications and can be made in number of sizes, shapes and at varying depths. They can placed on both the inside and outside (near or far side) surfaces of the material. EDM notches may be required along both the transverse and longitudinal axis of the material, and in some cases at an oblique angle to the axis.
EDM is a controlled process that uses an electric spark method to remove microscopic metal particles, and creates an impression in the material closely conforming to the shape of the electrode used. The width, length, and depth of a notch can be repeated within verifiable tolerances to provide consistency in establishing acceptance guidelines when standardizing or calibratining inspection equipment.
We can produce precision EDM calibration notches, flat bottom holes, simulated wall reductions, or almost any custom flaw into to your desired test standard's external or internal surface. In ultrasonics the EDM notch represents a smooth planar defect in the form of Flat Bottom Holes (FBH).
